About Us
Wilson Family Farm has been family owned and operated since 1978. As growers, packers and shippers of fresh California fruit, we are vertically integrated to accommodate just about any fruit marketing need.
After graduating from Chico State in 1973 with a degree in Plant Science, Doug Wilson worked as a technical consultant for a local kiwifruit nursery. A few years later while managing a kiwifruit ranch, he started looking for a piece of property to begin his own agricultural career. In 1978 the thirty-five acre ranch pictured below was purchased and Wil-Ker-Son Ranch was formed. Doug was one of the first growers in the area to plant kiwifruit, and originally used the land to grow nursery stock. With the addition of over one hundred-fifty acres of kiwifruit, sugar plums, and chestnuts over the years, a packing shed was built adjacent to the existing barn structure to accommodate the local fruit packaging needs. In 2018 we re-branded to Wilson Family Farm to better reflect the involvement of Doug's sons, Luke and Jake Wilson.
Today we boast three independent packing lines, on-site hydro-cooling, a cold storage facility with loading dock, and the availability of custom farming assistance. We are a multi-generational farm and aim to leave a legacy of careful stewarding of the land we own. We are proud to be one of the premier fruit handlers in the Sacramento Valley and look forward to meeting the needs of local growers in the future.
